One of the nicest feelings you would ever encounter is having to lay down on your bed, cuddle with your pillow, do those carefree positions, close your eyes, then sleep. Oh! What a nice feeling it is to be subtle by nature and to be relaxing yourself. When you close your eyes, you are being unconscious of the world. You are escaping from the jurassic jungle of life. You are falling into a peaceful slumber. Isn’t it delightful to sleep?
Then came the idea that sleeping is the worst option to do. Why contradict the action most people want to do? Why oppose one of the best actions to do that will give you rest, peace of mind, and delight?
Simply because you are not being productive, and you are not making the most out of your life.
A third of your day is allotted for sleeping. This is normal. Sleeping gives you ample time to rest, to repair your body’s broken tissues, to regain energy and strength for the coming day. From this perception, sleeping is not the worst option to do because it is essential for human life.
Sleeping becomes the worst option to do when you have had enough hours of sleep for the day, yet you still manage to add more hours of sleep. It becomes the worst option to do because you are WANTING to sleep, rather than NEEDING to.
You are missing out on the beauty of life.
A third of the day is for your sleep. The other two-thirds are allotted for giving life, a life. Now what do i mean?
There are so many things to do in your life. There are so many activities that will enhance and nurture you as a person. So many things to see, to hear, and to feel. So many things to develop. So many possibilities to be discovered. So many emotions to feel. So many hearts to touch. So many relationships to value. So many moments to create and capture.
You are given the freedom to sleep anytime, and the choice of how much you want to. But keep in mind, you are only given ONE life.
So how will you spend your life? Automatically, a third of it is for sleeping. Now it’s up to you how to spend the other two-thirds. To sleep again? Or to enjoy the fullness of life?
Think about it. Instead of being idle, why not unwrap yourself and discover everything life has to offer. Open your eyes. Feel everything. Capture every moment. Make the most out of it.
Because sleeping, is the worst option to do.
